What you see, is it truly clean??

There is nothing more unappealing than to see a dirty plate or a dirty cutlery or for that matter a stained dirty glass in an upscale restaurant. Again the standard of cleanliness depends from person to person. Since I am from this industry, to me cleanliness is not just the visual part but beyond that. Of my ex-manager, who is now a General Manager in one of the top hotels in India, he showed me how he checked the cleanliness when he goes to different hotels. “Smell the plate, cutlery or glass”, he said. “This way you clearly know if that is cleaned or not”.
It makes sense, at home have you ever noticed when you eat say for example fried egg on a plate, later your wash it briefly and keep it aside. Now if you smell the same plate after a couple of hours or even for your next meal and smell the plate, chances are more than often you will smell the egg you ate previously in the same plate. There are people who are sensitive to smell, little did I know that my own father is very sensible to smell and he totally hates if he smells something fishy in the dinning plates, both figuratively and literally. There are more people outside who have similar or even more need to have plates, glassware and silverware to be absolutely clean.
What people don’t think much of is that dinnerware gets dirty or stained cause we put food on them, however glassware and silver ware goes into our mouth, and needless to say that is the most germ-filled or bacteria filled place the cutlery goes, hence its cleanliness should be of utmost importance.
IF the glassware is clean properly, it will not have any smell (apart from extremely mild that comes from machine detergent). Sometimes, have a just polished glass but not clean glass, will give out literally fishy notes, when you pour in water or other liquid to drink. So apart from the fact that glassware that needs to be spotless clear and shining, it should also be cleaned thoroughly. Same goes with the tea cup, saucers, bread plates, dinner plates, it needs to be clean from any odor and also should be spotless clean, no watermarks too. Sometimes if not looked with detail the water marks from the plates might not be too visible but the visibility of watermarks magnifies when it is on silver ware.

The spotless cleanliness of your restaurants or even at homes’ dinnerware, silverware and glassware gives the top notch impression of being a clean and hygiene place for your guests.
